Andrea Mason, an expert in community outreach and city operations, is business operations officer for Invest Newark. 

In her role, she works to oversee the daily operations of multiple departments to ensure success. She also ensures that residents and the business community are aware of the many programs Invest Newark offers. 

Mason, a Newark native and resident, worked in the city of Newark’s Division of Recreation and Cultural Affairs for 15 years until becoming the South Ward Aide to Mayor Ras Baraka in 2016. 

In 2018, Mason was appointed as the first senior manager of the Newark People’s Assembly, a newly created division within the mayor’s office. There, her office served as the liaison between the community at-large and the mayor, administration and department leaders.
