My Home Pathway, Invest Newark join forces to boost homeownership in Newark

The long-held desire of city officials to increase homeownership in Newark is getting some help.

On Thursday, Invest Newark announced a partnership with My Home Pathway, a leading provider of homebuyer education and resources.

Invest Newark, the city’s economic development corporation, said the strategic partnership will unlock new pathways to homeownership for Newark residents.

“In a city where 78 percent of our residents are renters, expert financial guidance is key to removing imposed or imagined economic barriers to homeownership,” Mayor Ras Baraka said. “The city is grateful to My Home Pathway and Invest Newark for shepherding residents to an understanding of how obstacles like credit scores and other conditions can be remedied and corrected for mortgage approval.
